Stainability

At AVA, we believe that sustainability is about keeping humans healthy while keeping the earth habitable. When you use AVA flooring in your education, healthcare, hospitality, office, or retail project, you can rest assured knowing it was produced to the highest quality standards.

Phthalate- and Formaldehyde-Free

AVA flooring is 100% ortho-phthalate- and phthalate-free. Phthalates are typically used as plasticizers, to make plastics more flexible. Rather than use phthalates, AVA products use soybean oil and DOTP, a non-phthalate plasticizer. Similarly, AVA products are all free of formaldehyde.

Ultra-Low VOC Emissions

Because people now spend approximately 90% of their time indoors, the quality of indoor air is highly important. All AVA products meet stringent air quality standards. Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, are organic chemicals that  contribute to indoor air pollution when they are released by furniture, paint, and other furnishings. AVA products’ FloorScore, Indoor Advantage Gold, and GREENGUARD Gold certifications attest to the flooring’s ultra-low VOC emissions.

Transparent Ingredients

AVA is committed to ingredient transparency, and each flooring product has a Declare label and Health Product Declaration (HPD) where you can read a complete list of ingredients down to 0.01%. AVA products do not contain any ingredients on California’s Proposition 65 list of chemicals that may cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm under prolonged exposure. AVA products also do not contain any ingredients on the European Union’s REACH list of Substances of Very High Concern.

Transparent Environmental Impact

AVA products also publish Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) that show the products’ impacts on the natural environment over their complete lifecycle. While many companies will conduct Life Cycle Assessments of their products, the EPDs make that information available to the public and help companies benchmark their improvements.

Green Building Standards

AVA flooring’s indoor air quality certifications and commitment to ingredient and environmental transparency can help projects under many green building systems. AVA flooring contributes to points in the LEED Indoor Environmental Quality and Materials and Resources categories, as well as in the WELL Air and Mind concepts. AVA flooring also meets the standards for resilient flooring under California’s CALGreen building  code.

Whatever your flooring needs, AVA can provide you flooring that meets the highest-quality performance and design standards without sacrificing the health and safety of your occupants.
